MAKING A DIFFERENCE
Improving
Communities during NeighborWoods Month
This upcoming
Saturday 10/22 is national Make A Difference Day, and in towns across the
country residents will be joining forces to make a big difference by
planting trees! Over 100 tree events on Saturday will engage thousands
of volunteers in cities from coast to coast. How are you making a
difference this Saturday? Sign up your 10/22 events (and any other
October dates) to show how your work fits into the national movement
for improving communities with trees during NeighborWoodsTM Month.

NEIGHBORWOODS MESSAGE
Heed the Chief: Take Part this October!
In his latest video
for October 2011, US Forest Service Chief Tom Tidwell encourages
everyone "to get involved both personally and professionally" in
NeighborWoodsTM Month this
October. He reminds us of the great value of urban forests: "Urban
trees and greenery raise the quality of life [...] We can have a
healthy urban forest" if we take action to make it happen!
