FOCUS EVENT
Providence Park: A Model in Affordable Housing and Community Forestry
(October
21) Over 500 volunteers, Rep. Jim Cooper, the Mayor, The Home Depot
Foundation, Tennessee legislators, Metro Council members, and
representatives from the Governor's office, will gather to celebrate
the work of 35,000 volunteers who built 138 homes in less than 4 years.
This dedication ceremony will announce the planned planting of
100 trees in the Nashville neighborhood. DeAnn Fordham, Program Manager of the Home Depot Foundation, will
be at the event to talk about the value of trees and recognize the
positive works of the Tennessee Environmental Council, Habitat for
Humanity, and Nashville Civic Design Center.

Create a myspace or facebook page, and link ACT as a friend. These
networking sites are a great way to reach youth audiences, and excite a broader community about urban

spirit of volunteerism and stewardship for trees. Send us your
inspiring, surprising, or amusing photos and we'll feature your images
at the ACT Annual Meeting and Member Rally on Nov 13 in Baltimore. Top
