One Thousand Trees Helping to Green Super Bowl
(Tampa Bay, FL)- A thousand new trees have taken root in urban neighborhoods and wildlife areas throughout the Tampa Bay area as part of the overall "greening" of Super Bowl XLIII. The program kicked off in November and included more than a dozen tree planting projects leading up to the big game. Planting sites included wildlife refuge areas, school campuses, public parks, estuaries and riversides throughout Hillsborough and Pinellas County.

LOCAL STORY
New bill will require homebuilders to plant trees
(Nashville, TN)- Months of negotiations finally yielded legislation that would require Nashville's homebuilders to plant a certain number of trees on each open lot. The bill would require homebuilders to plant one tree for every 30-linear feet of street front in residential areas. Residential developers would be required to maintain seven trees per acre. If a homebuilder or developer doesn't comply with the potential new tree requirement, then Metro may seize their bonds for the project.
