Green Cities Report- How Key Cities are Combating Climate Change
(Washington, DC)- A new report released today called Green Cities is one of the first assessments of exactly how 40 of the country's largest cities are trying to limit their carbon footprints and take the steps needed to raise these efforts to the next level. According to the survey, cities have generally fallen short in their ability to create an equitable green economy- one that connects low-income people and under-invested urban communities to the economic mainstream.

Aid for shade: Municipalities eyeing money to buy trees
(Johnsontown, PA)- Pennsylvania communities are lining up to take advantage of a state initiative to increase the number of trees along urban streets and in parks. The state Department of Conservation and Natural Resources is making available funds to purchase trees. Volunteers will be enlisted to plant and maintain the trees for years to come.
