ACT Represented on National Tree Care Standards Committee
(College Park, MD)- The ANSI A300 standards are the national consensus standards for tree care practices. Now the 2009 standards have been release, and per industry practice, ANSI must consider public comments before publishing standards. For the first time ever, nonprofit tree groups have representation on the ANSI Committee. Please consider summiting comments through our representative.

ARRA Funds at Work in Urban Forestry
(Washington, DC)- In many sectors of the green industry, including tree care, there is a job for every trained worker available. Some communities have caught on and are offering workforce training to expose adults and high school graduates to these career opportunities. Now, the American Recovery and Reinvestment Act (ARRA) is at work in the urban forests.

(Beverly Hills, CA)- TreePeople is hiring for a Volunteer Manager. This position is responsible for recruiting, orienting and placing volunteers for all TreePeople programs and support departments, with an emphasis on creating, supporting and retaining volunteer leaders. Helping to support and train TreePeople staff to effectively utilize and retain volunteers.
