Sustainable Sites Rating System
(Washington, DC)- Three years of research and work culminates as the Sustainable Sites Initiative released the first full national rating system for sustainable landscapes. In conjunction with the release, the Initiative invites projects to apply as a pilot project to test this rating system. Any type of designed landscape is eligible, as long as the project size is at least 2,000 square feet. The call for pilot projects will remain open until February 15, 2010.

There's a Hole in the Bucket, Dear Liza
(Los Angeles, CA)- The rains that have fallen in the past couple weeks have given Los Angeles a reprieve from the severe drought of the past three years. In a search for long-term solutions, last week Congresswoman Grace Napolitano (38th district) convened a hearing of the House Natural Resources Water and Power Subcommittee in L.A.

(Marion, IA)- Trees Forever is hiring for three full-time positions. The successful candidate will be able to fulfill two of the four roles- Field Coordinator, GIS Coordinator, Landscape Architect, and Program Manager.
