Federal Stimulus to Be Spent On Nevada Tree Planting
(Carson City, NV)- Federal government efforts to create jobs through
stimulus funding have expanded to encompass an urban Clark County tree
planting effort and related activities, including tree care training
for Spanish-speaking workers. Similar urban tree planting projects are
under way in other states using federal stimulus money.

LOCAL STORY
New Haven Begins Canopy Campaign
(New
Haven, CT)- Volunteers and youth workers in partnership with Urban
Resource Initiative are digging in to a project that aims to plant
10,000 trees in the city over the next five years. Last fall, Mayor
John DeStefano Jr. unveiled his vision for a more tree-covered city and
the tree planting is now fully under way.
