ACT Announces $100,000 National Grant Program Recipients
(College Park, MD)- ACT, in partnership with The Home Depot(r) Foundation, is pleased to announce the 11 recipients of the grants awarded by the National NeighborWoods Program(tm) in 2010. The national competition promoted strategic partnerships between greening organizations and affordable housing providers, and grants will support tree planting to enhance the health and livability of affordable homes.

Friends of the Urban Forest 1000th planting
(San Francisco, CA)- One of San Francisco's best-loved nonprofit groups recently achieved a big milestone when it led a team of volunteers in planting trees in the Western Addition neighborhood. The event marks the 1,000th time that Friends of the Urban Forest planted trees in San Francisco since it was founded in 1981.

 
     

GREEN JOBS
Forest Assessment Coordinator, Cascade Land Conservancy
(Seattle, WA)- The position is responsible for designing and implementing a forest ecosystem values project for selected sites in Seattle and King County. The current project is 2-years and federally-funded.
