2010 Volunteer of the Year
(College Park, MD)- In collaboration with ServiceNation, the Alliance for Community Trees (ACT) is pleased to announce this year's national Volunteer of the Year, Bill Pardue, who volunteers with Trees Atlanta. Bill impressed the judges as grounded and savvy, possessing a clear passion for the cause and loyalty to the organization, and committed as both a volunteer and a donor. There were 8 finalists and 11 semi-finalists.

 

   
 


LOCAL STORY
Council should heed nonprofits' idea
(Tucson, AZ)- A group of 25 nonprofit agencies has put forward a plan that would require the Tucson City Council to triage community needs and make logical and effective decisions about how to spend limited dollars for human services. The plan is doable and it makes good business sense.

Executive Director, NYRP
(New York, NY)- Bette Midler's New York City community gardening, tree planting, and environmental education nonprofit seeks candidate to lead organization into its next 15 years. The new director will play a significant role in advocating for the greening and programming of New York City community gardens, parks and open space.
