LOCAL STORY
Storms spark debate over CT trees
(Hartford, CT)- Once again, Connecticut's trees
are at the center of a storm. Politicians, utilities and tree-lovers
are now battling over the future of trees in one of the most heavily
forested states. In both Hurricane Irene this summer and the rare
October snowstorm, downed trees and branches took down electric lines,
blocked roads, and slowed repairs. Utilities and politicians are now
trying to roll back state limits on tree trimming and removal.
