Asheville NeighborWoods Event gets an A

Asheville, NC (November 9, 2009)- In its Report Card feature, the Citizen-Times gave a grade of A to “everyone involved in planting an urban forest at Deaverview Apartments. Residents and Home Depot Associates helped Asheville GreenWorks plant more than 100 fruit trees, dogwoods and oaks, in addition to 60 holly shrubs, at the West Asheville public housing complex. In addition to upcoming bounties from the orchard, the growing project should help provide a more inviting neighborhood, provide shade and help curb greenhouse gases.”
