Local Tree Planting Project Captures National Attention

Groups join forces for city tree planting at Ingersoll Park as part of the Trees Forever NeighborWoods initiative.
Des Moines, IA (June 16, 2006)- Volunteers across Des Moines are planting trees in area neighborhoods and parks to beautify and revitalize the community through the Trees Forever NeighborWoods program. Join Mayor Frank Cownie, Trees Forever, and special guest Alice E. Walker, President of the National Alliance for Community Trees (ACT), in a ceremonial tree planting event at Ingersoll Park on Friday, June 16, at 11:00 a.m. (Located at the intersection of Harwood Drive and Bradway Place)
