Decatur, FL (August 17, 2003)- The Georgia Urban Forest Council’s mission is to sustain Georgia’s green legacy by helping communities grow healthy trees. Their vision is to be a broad based leadership resource in promoting the importance of trees throughout Georgia by leveraging user-friendly technology, influencing the policy-making process and providing cutting edge programming.

They offer a variety of programs and opportunities, including Basic Tree Care Workshops, Educational Quarterly Meetings, publications such as Tree Talks and informational brochures, the Annual Conference, an Annual Awards Program, the Landmark and Historic Tree Register, and more.
