Kansas City, MO (October 5, 2005)- Heartland Tree Alliance was created in early 2004 as non-profit community forestry organization, providing information about trees and a way to take action on behalf of their community trees. This organization serves the greater Kansas City metropolitan area, working regionally in both Kansas and Missouri.
Their mission is: Healthier communities through healthy trees. Their work is to care for some of the thousands of young trees already in the ground that need proper care and attention, so that they become a healthy addition to their community forest. They do this by:
* Teaching the value of Kansas City’s community forest.
* Training volunteers in tree planting and care.
* Creating opportunities for hands-on tree planting and care.
