New ACT Member- Nevada Shade Tree Council

Elko, NV (March 18, 2006)- For the past decade the Nevada Shade Tree Council has been a lead organization Nevada promoting tree planting and related educational programs for tree care and maintenance. The Council, a non-profit volunteer organization, was founded to serve as the advisory council to the State Forester for the NevadaCall, a federally funded Urban Forestry Program of the Division of Forestry to stop tree topping.

The Council’s Education Committee carries on year around activities that may include workshops, tree plantings, and the award and presentations of arboriculture resource books and materials to selected libraries around the state.
