In cooperation with the American Bar Association’s (ABA) Section on Environment, Energy and Resources (SEER), the Alliance for Community Trees (ACT) is pleased to announce the “Right Tree for the Right Place at the Right Time” nationwide public service project. The project calls on ABA members to contribute to the goal of planting one million trees across the United States in the next five years.
A key proposal of the project is ABA SEER’s partnerships with well recognized tree-planting organizations, including the Alliance for Community Trees. Members are encouraged to get involved in hands-on tree planting activities in their communities in addition to purchasing a tree or trees through the program partners. Members of SEER intend to engage in numerous publicity and educational outreach efforts throughout the year.
THERE ARE TWO WAYS TO GET INVOLVED:
1. Donate a Tree
The Alliance for Community Trees is a 501c3 tax exempt organization (EIN # 68-0319301). ACT participates in the Combined Federal Campaign (CFC # 12402) and is eligible for employer gift matching programs. To discuss planned giving opportunities, call us at 301-277-0040.
2. Volunteer to Plant Trees
Tree planting events are a great way to help affect cleaner air, greener streets, and healthier neighborhoods while engaging associates in the community where they live and work. ACT is the largest nonprofit tree-planting coalition in the country, with 160 member organizations in 41 states.
