Re-Green Tulsa makes progress but needs help

By Beth Burnett
Tulsa, OK (March 16, 2009)- Spring like temperatures have members of Re-Green Tulsa taking advantage of the nice weather. So far the group planted 2,500 trees. The goal is to plant 20,000 trees by 2010. Since Re-Green Tulsa formed, other programs have sprouted out of it. Neighborwoods, a neighborhood association tree planting program, and free tree planting for seniors are 2 of them.

“It’s like so many things where you see something so positive come out of something so negative,” said Anna America, Executive Director of Up With Trees. Leaders of Re-Green Tulsa hope you can add to their tally. If you have planted a tree, want to volunteer, or want to join the senior program, see related links.
