New ACT Member- Forest ReLeaf of Missouri

St.Louis, MO (November 1, 1993)- Forest ReLeaf of Missouri was founded in 1993 as the local response to Global ReLeaf- an international project of American Forests to combat global warming through tree planting. Today, Forest ReLeaf is an independent, not-for-profit organization dedicated to inspiring volunteer efforts in planting and caring for trees and forests, particularly those in our cities and towns.

Their mission is, “to provide trees for public and not-for-profit plantings and present educational programs to promote stewardship of the trees and forests in Missouri and other communities in the region.” Ultimately, their vision is “a region of healthy trees and forests sustained by volunteer efforts and our continued partnership with the public and private sectors.”
Forest ReLeaf is committed to the following overall goals:
* To raise public awareness of the need for tree planting;
* To facilitate community dialogue and action based upon needs identified through accepted forestry practices;
* To initiate tree plantings in Missouri and other communities in the region to supplement regular plantings and involve public and private organizations and individuals;
* To improve existing community forests and trees by promoting the proper care of trees;
* To address forestry objectives identified through our partnerships with the Missouri Department of Conservation and the Missouri Community Forestry Council.
