Portland, OR (November 1, 1993)- Friends of Trees is a nonprofit that brings people in the Portland-Vancouver area together to plant trees along city streets and in urban natural areas. Since 1989, their thousands of volunteers have planted more than 340,000 trees and native plants in the Portland-Vancouver area.
Friends of Trees’ programs are dedicated to planting and caring for trees and urban natural areas. Through their Neighborhood Trees program, they organize street tree-planting projects in neighborhoods. Their Natural Area Restoration program restores urban natural areas. In the summer and early fall, they maintain and monitor newly planted trees and shrubs to ensure that they grow to a healthy maturity.
They have three main programs:
* Neighborhood Tree
* Natural Area Restoration
* Summer & Fall Tree Care
