Reston, Virginia (March 20, 2008)- The Reston Association is one of the largest community associations in the United States. The community, the dream of Mr. Robert E. Simon, got its start in the early 1960’s and today is home to 60,000 + residents. We are located 20 miles west of the nation’s capital and six miles from the Dulles International Airport, in the rapidly growing and technology-rich Dulles Corridor.
Reston Association is a community service organization, with primary responsibility for the design, use and maintenance of covenants for properties in Reston; maintenance of open spaces that encompass 1,350 acres; environmental protection; and recreational and educational activities that range from a wide array of aquatic and tennis programs for all ages to a nationally acclaimed environmental education program that is housed at our 72-acre Walker Nature Education Center. We constantly hear from new and long-time residents alike that “living in Reston is like living in a park”, and we take great pride in our environmental stewardship role that helps to foster this sentiment.
