Rochester, MN (October 23, 2006)- NeighborWoods Community Tree Planting volunteers found one way to stay warm on a brisk fall day- dig in. More than 100 volunteers gathered at three locations throughout Rochester on Saturday to do just that. The goal? Plant 225 trees.


“We’re planting for the future,” said Lyle Alft, a certified arborist who led a group of volunteers planting Kentucky coffee trees and Dutch elm disease-resistant Accolade elms along a stretch of 20th Street Southeast near Ben Franklin Elementary School.
