TreeLink Moves to Alliance for Community Trees

College Park, MD (April 23, 2012)- The Alliance for Community Trees network is growing. ACTrees announces that TreeLink and its iTreeBank Program are now a part of Alliance for Community Trees. This is a result of many months of deliberation and collaboration by the leadership of both organizations.

Pepper Provenzano, Founder of TreeLink, iTreeBank and Tree Utah has worked closely with Carrie Gallagher, Executive Director of Alliance for Community Trees to assure that there is a thoughtful and smooth transition for TreeBank branches to become part of the ACTrees Network. In the coming weeks, ACTrees will contact iTreeBank leaders with details on how this new relationship will proceed in the future. This is an enormous opportunity to better serve the people and the trees in urban and community forests

With a U.S. economy slowly emerging from years of reduced support for nonprofits, 2012 is the ideal time to bring these two networks together and awaken the national conscience to act locally. While ACTrees member organizations and TreeLink and iTreeBank branches shine at the local and regional level, this new network will truly expand investment in trees, an appreciating asset within green infrastructure.

ACTrees staff and board are ready to help. ACTrees will ‘ramp up’ its support of donations and local funding for its Network. Contributions to the iTreeBank Program and TreeLink will be managed through ACTrees “Donate Now” page. Transactions on this page are managed by another nonprofit organization, Network for Good. When reconstruction of the ACTrees website is complete, website visitors will have the opportunity of contributing to iTreeBank Branches and to ACTrees Member Organizations.

Members of ACTrees and TreeLink Boards of Directors appreciate your continued support and patience during this transition period. And, should you have questions, contact ACTrees Executive Director Carrie Gallagher at Info@ACTrees.org.
