Volunteer of the Year

Win a trip to Washington, DC, for one of your volunteers!

Deadline: December 31 (annually)

ACTrees accepts nominations for “Volunteer of the Year” annually, with award nominations due each December 31st. This is a great opportunity for ACTrees members to share inspirational accounts of volunteers in action and have them gain national recognition for their local contributions.

Who is eligible?

This award is open to any individual (board member, community organizer, pro bono consultant, etc.) whose volunteer efforts have made a significant contribution to urban forestry, improving community trees and their neighborhoods.

ACTrees seeks nominees who model the ideals of stewardship, giving, professionalism, and leadership. We encourage all ACTrees members to take advantage of this opportunity to nationally recognize outstanding local volunteers. ACTrees members may nominate as many Volunteer of the Year candidates as they wish.

Award Prizes

Every nominee is recognized as a Volunteer of the Year semi-finalist, and receives a certificate in honor of their service. The award finalist is featured in ACTrees materials and receives the Volunteer of the Year Award, which includes round-trip airfare and lodging to meet with his/her Representatives in Washington, DC.

How to Nominate

To nominate a volunteer simply complete the online application: Nominate your Volunteer of the Year. Photographs of the award candidate volunteering in action are encouraged (but not required) and may be emailed to ACTrees (Programs@ACTrees.org), but candidate nominations must be submitted online.
