Rochester, MN (October 27, 2007)- Youth Commission members, in partnership with RNeighbors/NeighborWoods, the city of Rochester, and Rochester Public Utilities, will plant trees along Marion Road on Saturday. More than 60 participants have been recruited by Youth Commission members so far, including young people who are doing community work service for offenses. About 100 trees will be planted.
Earlier this week, volunteers told residents of the Marion Road corridor that the planting will take place, and information was sent home with Longfellow School students. Anyone interested in participating should meet at 9:15 a.m. Saturday at the entrance to Bear Creek Park. Participants will work in teams. The planting will be from 9:30 a.m. to noon.
