Joplin, MO (June 2, 2011)- Some Springfield organizations are aiming to help re-plant Joplin’s trees. On Thursday, the Southwest Missouri Resource Conservation & Development office established the “Trees for Joplin Fund.”
It’s working with the Community Foundation of the Ozarks to accept donations. The RC&D says it plans to use its network of partnerships, volunteer and technical assistance, and bulk purchasing power at tree stock nurseries to support tree restoration.
To help out, you can make contributions online at: www.cfozarks.org/donate; or send checks to Community Foundation of the Ozarks, P.O. Box 8960, Springfield, MO, 65801. You’re asked to note “Trees for Joplin” in the fund/program box online or on your check.
Forest ReLeaf of Missouri has also been at work on a collaborative plan for Joplin. Please contact firstname.lastname@example.org if you would like to donate time, expertise or make a contribution to support the replanting efforts in Joplin
