Staff Forester I – Urban Water Resources / Forest Inventory & Analysis is a full time position with the Texas A&M Forest Service and serves throughout the region.

Major/essential duties of job:
1.) Serve as contact for Urban Water / FIA program throughout the region.
2.) Deliver effective education, outreach, and technical assistance on forest-water relationship, riparian management/restoration, urban stormwater management / green infrastructure, groundwater management, water planning, and urban FIA.
3.) Organize urban FIA plot logistics (access, location, scheduling) and collect plot data.
4.) Enhance partnerships to increase effectiveness of Texas A&M Forest Service efforts.
5.) Actively engage in water resource stakeholder meetings.
6.) Coordinate water resource activities with other groups.
7.) Conduct innovative, educational outreach programs.
8.) Other duties as assigned

Educational qualifications/training required:
• Bachelor of Science or Master’s degree in Forestry required
• Excellent verbal and written communications
• Must have or be able to obtain a Texas driver’s license within 30 days of employment
• Must have or be able to obtain FIA Certified Cruiser within 6 months of employment
