New ACTrees Member- Puget Creek Restoration Society
Tacoma, WA (September 30, 2011)- Puget Creek Restoration Society is dedicated to protecting, enhancing, and restoring the Puget Creek Watershed and similar streams, wetlands, and green spaces on Commencement Bay and Puget Sound. Through hands-on restoration and research, educational outreach, and advocacy-and by increasing environmental awareness-we seek to preserve this important habitat so it will continue to be an example of what people can do to protect and restore the environment in an urban setting.
Since 1995, members of our Board of Directors have been involved in various activities concerning the restoration of, and research associated with, the Puget Creek Watershed. In September 2000, the nonprofit Puget Creek Restoration Society was formed to augment current activities and formulate a plan to establish this area as a viable habitat for salmon and other wildlife species.
