2010 American Water Resources Association Annual Conference

November 1-4
Philadelphia, PA

The 2010 AWRA Annual Conference program begins on Monday with an outstanding plenary session, featuring Mike Richter, former New York Rangers hockey player and current water resources advocate. We will continue with 75 concurrent technical sessions on a wide range of water resources research, policy, management, education, and technical topics that will provide you with lessons and tools to apply in your own watershed.

Our local topics tracks will provide an opportunity for Mid-Atlantic water resource professionals to tell you about the Delaware River and Chesapeake Bay experiences. Other special topics will include the Coastal Experience and Regional Planning tracks. Our lunchtime specialty round tables will also provide a forum for conference attendees to discuss focused topics in small discussion groups throughout the conference.

The Exhibit Hall will showcase companies with products, services, and information water resources professionals need. It will also host the poster session and displays from our conference sponsors. Take time to visit this area during the networking breaks and the opening reception and take advantage of all this room has to offer.

AWRA conferences provide unique opportunities for students to present their work and learn about professional opportunities. In 2010, AWRA will continue the ever popular student career night with a panel presentation and Q&A session with professionals from multiple disciplines and backgrounds. This will be followed by a speed-networking session where students can interact with numerous professionals in a brief yet focused setting.

In between the technical presentations, you'll have several opportunities to interact with exhibitors and presenters, including the opening reception, the AWRA Awards Luncheon, and a special evening trip to the Fairmount Water Works. Don't forget to vote for your favorite photograph in the photo contest, to participate in the scavenger hunt and to join us in racing to the top of the legendary Rocky steps in the annual 5K Fun Run.
