April Urban Natural Resources Institute Webcast
This month's Urban Natural Resources Institute (UNRI) Informational Webcast is scheduled for Wednesday, April 19th at 11:00 AM (EST).
This session will feature Dr. Gordon Heisler, Meteorologist, USDA Forest Service, Syracuse, NY, who will discuss "The Impact of Urban Vegetation on Exposure to Ultraviolet Radiation." Dr. Heisler will discuss ultraviolet irradiance (UV) in urban ecosystems with respect to the likely effects on human health. He will examine whether the health effects of UV radiation should be included in planning of landscape elements such as trees and shading structures.
Webcasts aim to bring to you up to date on the work of Forest Service Northern Research Station scientists, and our cooperators, who are working on urban natural resource research and development projects.
