Symposium on Urban Environmental Issues in the 21st Century City
October 15-17, 2006
Philadelphia, Pennsylvania
Inspired by the film series Edens Lost & Found, this national symposium on sustainable urban environments is co-sponsored by PHS, the Institute for Urban Research at the University of Pennsylvania, and the Media and Policy Center Foundation. The symposium begins with a reception on Sunday evening, October 15, and continues with full-day sessions October 16 and 17. The keynote speaker, Wangari Maathai, won the Nobel Peace Prize in 2004 for her contributions to sustainable development, democracy, and peace.
The symposium will be held on the University of Pennsylvania campus at Houston Hall and Irvine Auditorium.
