While we have some success stories, recent new models may provide further inspiration for transforming our communities. There will be a presentation and discussion on understanding and applying planning and sustainability innovations. Principles and practices for implementation will be studied, including the City of Vancouver Ecodensity model and the new Portland Eco-district concept.

Alliance for Community Trees is pleased to announce its newest grant program for community tree planting. In cooperation with the USDA People's Garden Project, ACTrees is introducing a new national pilot program designed to explore and deepen the connections between community trees and urban agriculture. ACTrees is the only national organization to receive People's Garden funding from the USDA, and we will be disbursing it to our member organizations through this nationally-competitive challenge grant to plant trees at community gardens.
