Millionth Tree Planting Ceremony

March 17, 2007
Albuquerque, NM

Over the past seventeen years, Tree New Mexico has enlisted the support and participation of government agencies, Native Americans, nonprofits, civic groups, and volunteers in our state-wide planting and education programs. This spring we are planting our millionth tree and launching a new program with the theme of Plant a Million More. Mayor Martin J. Chavez will be the honored guest.

The Millionth Tree Planting Ceremony will take place at Tiguex Park, with the First Annual Martin J. Chavez Tree Give-away begins at 10am. 5,000 trees will be given away! Tree species include: Austrian and Afghan pines, NM Olive, Desert Willow, and Lacebark Elm.
