Navigating Nonprofit-Local Government Relationships

This training is offered by staff and faculty of the School of Government, UNC Chapel Hill, as part of The Public Intersection Project. The purpose is to assist members of the Public Intersection- businesses, philanthropies, governments, faith-based organizations, and nonprofits- to recognize shared concerns and act as partners to address pressing community needs.
Objectives include:
* To improve communication, relationships, and collaboration among members of the Public Intersection
* To enhance application of community resources towards meeting public needs
* To develop materials that can be used in and by other communities to bring businesses, philanthropies, governments, faith-based organizations, and nonprofits together to address their local problems
Who Should Attend:
Staff of municipal and county governments and staff of community-based nonprofits (including local philanthropies) who:
* Manage applications for funding,
* Negotiate, review, or monitor contractual agreements with nonprofits and governments,
* Wish to assess the success of their nonprofit-government relationships,
* Have an interest in developing new ways of working together.
