Northeastern Urban Research Organizational Network (NEURON) Conference

January 10-11, 2007
Fulton Hall, Boston College

This is the first annual Urban Ecology Collaborative NEURON Conference. NEURON is an annual meeting focused on urban & community forestry issues and associated research, applications, and education.

A central goal of NEURON is to articulate and share research findings, managers' research and application needs, and education opportunities. NEURON is a 2-day event that is organized to be relatively informal but sufficiently structured to be productive. NEURON is arranged to promote increased awareness and collaboration among researchers, managers, and educators within and among states, focusing on but not restricted to the Northern Region.

A number of agencies at local, state, and federal levels as well as NGOs and community groups are interested to develop local urban tree canopy (UTC) goals. Because of this interest, we propose the following theme: New Prospects and Tools for Urban Tree Canopy Goals: Linking Remote Sensing, Field Inventories, and Ecosystem Services.
