2007 Prudential Spirit of Community Awards
Deadline: October 31, 2007
The Prudential Spirit of Community Awards, sponsored by Prudential Financial and administered by the National Association of Secondary School Principals, recognize middle and high school students for volunteer community service.
Information packets are mailed each fall to middle and high schools and to designated local organizations across the country: Girl Scouts, 4-H, American Red Cross, YMCA, and Volunteer Centers belonging to the Points of Light Foundation & Volunteer Center National Network.
Local Honorees are selected at participating schools and organizations in November, and from these winners, two State Honorees are chosen in each state and in the District of Columbia. State Honorees receive awards of $1,000 and all-expenses-paid trips to Washington, DC. Ten National Honorees receive additional awards of $5,000, a gold medallion, and $5,000 grant from the Prudential Foundation for the nonprofit organization of their choice.
Applications should be made to local school principals or to one of the designated local organizations.
