Beldon Supports Environmental Advocacy Organizations

Deadline: October 24, 2007

The Beldon Fund seeks to build a national consensus to achieve and sustain a healthy planet by supporting nonprofit advocacy organizations. Proposals for this program do not need to be tied to any particular issue, but targeted issues must have the potential to build active public support for the environment.

The Fund provides project and general support grants through the following two programs:

* The Human Health and the Environment program supports organizations throughout the U.S. that engage new constituencies in exposing the connection between toxic chemicals and human health and in promoting public policies that eliminate environmental risks to people's health.

* The Key States program supports organizations in Florida, Michigan, Minnesota, North Carolina, and Wisconsin that focus on building a consensus for environmental protection that can influence public policymakers.

Letters of inquiry for both programs will be accepted between September 26 and October 24, 2007. Visit the website listed above to take an online eligibility test and review the grantmaking guidelines for each program.
