Deadline: September 28, 2007
The Corps Network, through the generous support of the Corporation for National and Community Service, is providing a funding opportunity for organizations that undertake service projects on and surrounding Martin Luther King, Jr. Day. The Corps Network will fund organizations within and outside of its membership that mobilize volunteers, focusing on the disadvantaged youth population, to benefit impoverished communities.
Subgrantee service projects will include: providing direct relief to a condition of poverty through a service project; mobilizing a diverse population of community volunteers with an emphasis on disadvantaged youth; completing a Seat for Social Justice project; developing new and existing partnerships with community organizations; and providing informational and recruitment materials on service to project volunteers and the entire community. The grants awarded are for a maximum of $5,000 and require a match of non-federal funds of at least 70%. The Corps Network will hold mandatory informational and TA calls for all subgrantees at regular intervals from the time of the grant award through MLK Day of Service.
