Northeast Utilities Offering Environmental Benefits Grants

Deadline: April 15 and October 15 annually

Northeast Utilities' Environmental Community Grant Program is designed to fund local community and grassroots environmental projects in Connecticut, Massachusetts, and New Hampshire. The ECGP grant, excluding any internal funding provided by the requesting organization, should fully fund the project. Projects utilizing funding through other outside sources will not be considered for the program.

Eligible programs include projects to protect or preserve the environment, including improving a local wildlife habitat or starting and maintaining a recycling program; providing education on environmental issues of local interest to adults or children; and improving the environment through organized cleanup projects (such as cleaning up a park, part of a stream, or a vacant lot) or by reclaiming and rehabilitating damaged environments.

Grant amounts range between $250 and $1,000 each.
