Small Grants for Greenways Development

Deadline: June 1, 2007

The Kodak American Greenways Awards Program, administered by the Conservation Fund, provides small grants to stimulate the planning and design of greenways in communities throughout America. In general, grants can be used for all appropriate expenses needed to complete a greenway project, including planning, technical assistance, and implementation costs.

Greenways are corridors of protected public and private land established along rivers, ridges, abandoned railroad corridors, utility right-of-way, canals, scenic roads, or other linear features. They link recreational, cultural, and natural features; provide pathways for people and wildlife; protect forests, wetlands, and grasslands; and improve the quality of life for everyone.

Awards are primarily provided to local, regional, and statewide nonprofit organizations. The maximum grant is $2,500, and most grants will range between $500 and $1,500 each.
