Taproot Foundation Nonprofit Service Grants
Deadline: December 1, 2008
The Taproot Foundation specializes in awarding capacity-building service grants to other nonprofit organizations. The foundation seeks to provide high-potential nonprofits with the tools and services necessary to maximize the impact of their work.
Unlike traditional foundations that make cash grants, Taproot makes grants of high-quality consulting services. The foundation packages teams of business professionals in pro bono marketing, information technology, human resources, and strategy management service grants, each of which is valued at between $25,000 and $70,000.
Types of service grants include annual report design, brochure design, brand strategy, donor database development, advanced and basic Web site design, strategy management, and strategic human resources.
To be eligible for a service grant, an organization must be a nonprofit 501c3 organization or operate under the fiscal sponsorship of a 501c3 and be headquartered and provide direct benefits to residents of Boston, Chicago, New York City, Seattle, the San Francisco Bay Area, or Washington, DC.
