TechSoup (formerly CompuMentor) is a great resource for free and reduced rate software from major vendors like MicroSoft, Intuit, Adobe, and more. All nonprofit organizations are eligible. TechSoup is like shopping online, no lengthy grant proposals needed - just proof of your 501-c-3 status and you are ready to roll. You can buy licenses throughout the year, up to a limit depending on the manufacturer's restrictions. Fees are low - usually just a $10 or $15 stocking fee. The year rolls over on June 30, so now is a great time to order the maximum you need, because you'll start afresh as of July 1.
