Director of Sponsorship and Institutional Relations (Brooklyn, NY)
The Prospect Park Alliance is currently seeking a full-time Director of Sponsorship and Institutional Relations to join a dynamic and successful development team that raises nearly $5 million annually in operating support in addition to capital support and government grants management. This is an exciting opportunity to work with experienced professionals in development as well as marketing, and to help strengthen and expand the Alliance's institutional giving and sponsorship capacity.
Reporting to the Vice President for Development and supervising a staff of two, the Director is responsible for all foundation, corporate, and government support for Prospect Park Alliance programs, capital, and general operating funds, including grants, sponsorships, business membership, and requirements/grants management for legislative awards and other government funding. He/she works strategically and collaboratively with Development staff, as well as with other Alliance and Park departments, including Education, Marketing, Design & Construction, Landscape Management, Special Events, Volunteers and Government and Community Affairs.
This position is 35 hours a week, with some weekend/evening hours required, and is eligible for benefits.
REQUIREMENTS
BA with 5+ years related fund-raising experience and demonstrated success in grant writing, research, and donor stewardship. Excellent writing, editing, verbal, interpersonal and group communication skills are essential. Knowledge of New York and Brooklyn funders, management experience, as well as Raisers Edge or other fund-raising database experience strongly preferred. Must be able to work effectively in a fast-paced environment, juggle multiple assignments, and collaborate with colleagues within and across departments.
Driver's license valid in the state of New York required.

Prospect Park is Brooklyn's 585-acre historic flagship park, designed by the famed Olmsted and Vaux. It is the home of Brooklyn's only lake and forest, with nature trails, numerous recreational activities, public and school-based educational programs, volunteer opportunities, and the first urban Audubon Center. The Alliance is currently engaged in a major capital campaign for Lakeside, a $70 million project that will replace the current skating rink and restore natural areas.
