Office Assistant, Reverb (Portland, ME)

A cross functional position that provides logistical and organizational support as part of a fast-paced team for a rapidly growing non-profit environmental organization focused on "greening" the music industry, based in Portland, ME. Start Date: Early 2011.

Deeply rooted within the music and environmental communities, Reverb educates and engages musicians and their fans to promote environmental sustainability. Reverb is a non-profit organization founded by environmentalist Lauren Sullivan and her musician husband, Guster guitarist/vocalist Adam Gardner.

ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS
* Provide general support for administrative needs of organization which may include:
* Responding to telephone and email requests (info@reverb.org, info@greenmusicgroup.org) for information and services from artists, organizations and individuals
* Assisting with tour logistics (flights, hotels, shipping, printing, etc.)
* Managing online tour calendars
* Proofreading copy for web and print materials
* Assisting with start-of-tour logistics and planning (creating packing lists, shipping supplies, etc.)
* Assisting with volunteer recruitment, environmental group coordination and Eco-Village logistics
* Posting volunteer opportunities online
* Creating volunteer and environmental group reporting sheets from tour books
* Maintaining inventory and organization of Reverb storage and office spaces and any incoming and outgoing shipments to both locations
* Maintaining inventory and organization of bioproduct catering supplies, including managing incoming shipping from supplier and outgoing shipments to tour
* Maintaining and update Reverb database, which tracks volunteers, environmental groups, biodiesel pumps and suppliers, etc.
* Acting as an assistant to the general manager and other office staff as needed

REQUIREMENTS
* Phenomenal attention to detail and ability to manage and bring many projects and tasks to completion simultaneously
* Ability to move gracefully and appropriately between environmental, musical and office environments
* Bachelors degree (major in environmental studies, business or non-profit management or equivalent preferred)
* Proficiency in Excel, Word software use, prefer experience with Mac OS and Google Apps (Calendar, Docs & Email)
* Excellent communications skills, both written and verbal
* A self-starter who is pro-active with assessing tasks and the office's needs and completes tasks efficiently and effectively
* Ability to lift up to 50 lbs as needed

Compensation: Compensation commensurate with experience.
