Philadelphia Outreach Coordinator, PennFuture (Philadelphia, PA)

Citizens for Pennsylvania's Future (PennFuture) is seeking a new outreach coordinator in its Philadelphia office. The outreach coordinator is responsible for coordinating PennFuture's Next Great City campaign, recruiting new members, providing education about environmental issues with an emphasis on recycling, air, water, natural gas and energy-related policies to PennFuture members, the environmental advocacy community, and decision makers; and assisting in issue campaign strategy and implementation throughout Philadelphia.

The outreach coordinator will work with a team of professionals including attorneys, other outreach staff and media professionals. This is a demanding, fast-paced position in a dynamic and highly effective organization.

JOB DUTIES
The successful applicant will be responsible for the following activities as part of PennFuture's Next Great City campaign:
* Develop and execute a campaign plan to accomplish the next phase of the Next Great City agenda.
* Cultivate relationships with Philadelphia City Council members, city government staff, members of the Philadelphia delegation to the Pennsylvania General Assembly, and community partners.
* Educate residents about the campaign and engage them in various activities.
* Represent PennFuture and the Next Great City coalition in the media, including social media.
* Generate support for PennFuture's policy campaigns in the Philadelphia area, and conduct other outreach tasks including membership development and organizing special events.

QUALIFICATIONS
Applicants should have a bachelor's degree and outreach and/or campaign management experience. The ideal candidate has a passion for our issues, strong abilities to communicate effectively with diverse audiences, and a proven capacity to work as a member of a team. Familiarity with Philadelphia and the surrounding region as well as political processes are essential.

The ideal candidate will have a working knowledge of the city and ability to network and communicate effectively with diverse constituencies (neighborhood associations, recreational groups, faith communities, businesses, developers, unions). Familiarity with Philadelphia issues such as vacant lands, transportation, recycling, energy efficiency, access to local food and public riverfronts is desired.

Prior experience and demonstrable ability for public speaking, presentations and community organizing required. Proficiency with basic computer skills including word processing, e-mail, Internet and database applications required. The successful candidate must be self-motivated and able to handle multiple projects and assignments within specific deadlines.

COMPENSATION
Low to mid 40s, dependent upon experience. This is a full-time position, and will include evening and weekend hours. PennFuture offers a full benefits package, including health, life and disability insurance and generous vacation time. PennFuture is an equal opportunity employer.
