Programs Coordinator, TreeUtah (Salt Lake City, UT)

The Programs Coordinator promotes TreeUtah's mission by developing and implementing high quality tree planting and educational programs that involve municipal administrators, forestry professionals, business leaders, and local citizens throughout Utah. This is a supervisory, permanent, full-time position.

RESPONSIBILITIES
* Plan, coordinate and oversee TreeUtah's Ecological Restoration, Urban Forestry and Education programs.
* Design, coordinate, and implement tree planting events and related workshops throughout the State.
* Ensure that detailed records of tree planting events are properly maintained, provide regular reports on tree planting activities, and work with Executive Director to plan future programs and activities.
* Collaborate with partners such as Salt Lake County; Utah State Division of Forestry, Fire, and State Lands; Utah Community Forestry Council; and other governmental and nongovernmental organizations.
* Assist Volunteer Coordinator in developing and maintaining volunteer network.
* Supervise, train and evaluate support staff and interns.
* Develop and present program information at community outreach and tabling events.
* Assist the Executive Director with reporting on contract agreements and grants.
* Assist the Executive Director in grant writing and fundraising activities.

QUALIFICATIONS
* Degree in forestry, environmental science, or related field
* Relevant experience in forestry, environmental non-profit organizations, government agencies, and/or teaching
* Minimum of three years working experience
* Certified arborist or obtain certification in first two years of employment
* Experience in project management
* Knowledgeable in the identification, biology, and care of trees, shrubs, and other plants
* Strong interpersonal communication and public speaking skills
* Ability to effectively supervise, train, evaluate and motivate staff and volunteers
* Strong computer skills
