The mission of the Environmental Support Center (ESC) is to promote the quality of the natural environment, human health, and community sustainability by increasing the organizational effectiveness of local, state, and regional organizations working on environmental issues and for environmental justice.

The Leadership and Enhanced Assistance Project (LEAP) is ESC's two-year organizational development program that provides assistance to grassroots environmental groups to build capacity and make a "leap" forward. The program provides training, support, and funding to help groups establish and meet capacity building goals and build understanding among peer groups.
