Colombe Foundation Promotes Peaceful Public Policies Deadline: October 6, 2009 The Colombe Foundation, administered by the Proteus Fund, seeks to create a peaceful world through changes in American policy. The Foundation works for the elimination of weapons of mass destruction; a shift from war and aggression to conflict prevention and conflict resolution; and a move from wasteful military spending to investments in programs addressing poverty, environmental degradation, and other root causes of violence. The Foundation currently makes grants to nonprofit organizations in the United States that share its mission and goals. Eligible applicants include grassroots organizations working to educate the public and influence decision-makers, peace advocacy organizations promoting alternative policies, and organizations initiating media coverage.
