Deadline: June 6, 2008
The National Forest Foundation is a private, nonprofit organization established by Congress to support the USDA Forest Service in its management of the nation's forests and grasslands. The Foundation's Matching Awards Program (MAP) encourages community involvement in the stewardship of national forest lands through the formation of goal-oriented partnerships. Consideration is given to projects in the areas of community-based forestry, watershed health and restoration, wildlife habitat improvement, and recreation.
Eligible applicants include nonprofit organizations and Native American tribes working to implement on-the-ground conservation and restoration projects on or adjacent to National Forests and Grasslands. All MAP awards require at least a 1:1 cash match of non-federal funds.
