Green Communities, a $555 million initiative developed by Enterprise, seeks to transform the way America thinks about, designs, and builds affordable communities. The initiative provides support to developers throughout the United States who meet Green Communities criteria for housing that promotes health; conserves energy and natural resources; and provides easy access to jobs, schools, and services.

Grants of up to $50,000 are currently available to help cover the costs of planning and implementing green components of affordable housing developments. Nonprofit organizations, public housing authorities, tribally designated housing entities, and for-profit entities participating in joint ventures with qualified organizations are eligible to apply.
