Bridging The Gap (BTG) is seeking a highly motivated and qualified individual to serve as the program coordinator of Heartland Tree Alliance (HTA). In 2004 Bridging The Gap, along with its business, government and community partners, created a non-profit community forestry organization - Heartland Tree Alliance. This organization works to engage people of the greater Kansas City region to take action and advocate for a healthy community forest.

This position requires experience and abilities in community partnerships, community organizing, volunteer management, nonprofit board or committee coordination, fundraising and administrative support including report writing. Good people and communication skills, computer and organizational skills along with excellent composition skills are also necessary. A desire to work for an organization that makes a positive difference in our community is essential.

The successful candidate will expand upon the initial groundwork and be able to capitalize on the many opportunities related to community forestry in the KC region. This person will coordinate and direct the activities of Heartland Tree Alliance (HTA) and be responsible for managing program components and events, building the organization's volunteer base, outreach and marketing, creating partnerships with other tree-related organizations and businesses, working in partnership with the HTA Board and its committees, and generating funds for the program.

Candidates will need flexibility in scheduling as some night and weekend meetings and activities will be required. A degree in a related field or equivalent experience is preferred. Salary is commensurate with experience.
